About the artist

Tatiane Silva Hofstadler was born in 1974.  She grew up in a small town called Milagres (“Miracles”) in the Brazilian state of Bahia and later moved to Sao Paulo. In 2003 Tatiane left Brazil to spend two years in Vienna, Austria, three years in New Delhi, India and another three years in Tokyo, Japan. In 2011 Tatiane moved to Washington, DC where she would live for five years.

Soon after her arrival in the United States she enrolled in the Corcoran College of Art and Design (today part of George Washington University), where she received her certificate in fine art. Tatiane’s powerful abstract paintings quickly caught the attention of faculty and galleries in Washington, DC.  In 2015 she was selected to participate in group exhibitions at the Corcoran Gallery, the Watergate Gallery and the P Street Gallery.

In August 2016, soon after her first solo exhibition in the US, Tatiane moved back to her native Brazil. In August 2017 the “Galeria A Hebraica” in Sao Paulo hosted her first solo exhibition in Brazil, entitled “Quintessência”. Since 2017, Tatiane is represented by Galeria Caribé in Sao Paulo. The Gallery hosted two major solo exhibitions: “Caminhos e Descobertas” in August 2017 and “Interlúdio” in May/June 2022, curated by Olívio Guedes.

Since August 2022 Tatiane lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Her solo exhibition “Quintessenz” at Schloss Puchenau is curated by Andreas Strohhammer (Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz).
